On Sunday afternoon, the Clarksburg-Harrison Cultural Foundation hosted its annual meeting at Waldomore in downtown Clarksburg. As part of the meeting, the foundation awarded over $13,800 in grants to local arts organizations and programs. The grants will help provide unique arts opportunities throughout Harrison County including ukeleles for Simpson Elementary School’s music program and art therapy programs at Highland-Clarksburg Hospital.

As part of the annual meeting, the foundation honored Laban White, a founding member and former President of the Clarksburg-Harrison Cultural Foundation, for his commitment to the organization and advancing the arts in the community. Mr. White passed away exactly one year ago on Sunday at the age of 98.

Rayme Pullen presented a special performance of Papillons, Op. 2 by Robert Schumann in honor of Mr. White.

The foundation also received updates on various projects, including the Robinson Grand Theater renovations, as well as elected new board members.
