The City of Clarksburg has announced that it will once again be providing its annual Fall Clean-Up service.

Open trucks will be available to take items too large and bulky for normal pick-up. Stoves, washers, dryers, household items, hot water tanks, and dried out paint cans are a few examples of items that will be picked up. Refrigerators, air conditioners, and freezers must be properly tagged, noting that all Freon has been professionally removed. Without proof of Freon removal, the above items will not be picked up.

Vehicle parts, batteries, and tires, along with liquids will not be picked up. Auto Zone at 106 W. Main Street in Clarksburg will accept used motor oil. Clarksburg Scrap Metals receives old vehicle parts and all appliances. Also, this year, they will not be picking up any electronic equipment such as televisions, microwaves, or computers. If you need to dispose of any electronic equipment, contact Waste Management at 304-842-7010 or your garbage hauler.

To take advantage of this free service, Clarksburg residents are requested to place items at the curb or in the alley where their normal garbage pick-up is made. Please do not place items out before your scheduled day. (CLICK HERE to view list of scheduled days)

Small items must be boxed, bagged, or tied. Nothing loose will be taken. All containers must be disposable and of a size and weight one man can hoist up into a dump truck bed.

No materials from contractor jobs will be included in this free service. Items not properly prepared will not be taken. Yard waste items will be picked up by a separate Compost Department truck.
