An upcoming car show hopes to raise money for a local church in Clarksburg.

Duff Street United Methodist Church is hosting its 1st Annual Car Show on Saturday, August 13 from 9AM to 4PM at Robert C. Byrd High School. Proceeds from the car show will benefit the church’s building fund to help build a new church. In 2012, the church demolished its main church building dating back to 1916, which had structural issues and had become unsafe. The church remains very active in the local community and meets weekly, holding their worship services in the Multi-Ministries Building.

Registration for the car show will be open from 9AM to 1PM on Saturday and there is a $10 entry fee per car. All classes are welcome, including Antique, Corvette, Hot Rod, Modified Street, and Truck. At 3PM, trophies and dash plaques will be awarded to the winning cars.

The family friendly event will have a concession stand, music, vendors, and a silent auction.

The car show is sponsored by RDR Energy Resources.
