The GFWC Bridgeport Junior Woman’s Club will host its annual Trick-or-Trot 5K run/walk on Saturday, October 29, 2016. This event will raise money for the Mountaineer Food Bank program.

Mountaineer Food Bank provides food and other household items to over 440 feeding programs in 48 counties in West Virginia. These programs include food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, senior programs and Backpack programs.

This year’s family-friendly 5K will not only include the chip-timed race and a short kid’s dash, but the group is also partnering with Jen Brazier, the only Spartan-certified coach in the state of WV, to bring a Kids’ Spartan mini-obstacle course to the event.

The race will start and finish at the Bridgeport Benedum Center, 164 West Main Street at 9:00 A.M., rain or shine. The registration is $20 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under; race day sign up is $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers and to the top three finishers in each age category.

All fitness levels are encouraged to attend, and strollers and pets are welcome! This event it designed for the whole family to enjoy!

“Feed the Hungry” is the GFWC Bridgeport Juniors’ special project and they’re very excited to support the Mountaineer Food Bank through this year’s Trick-or-Trot event.
