For Black History Month, the Harrison County WV Historical Society will host a special presentation to honor and remember the Wereth Eleven at the Uptown Event Center in Clarksburg this Friday, February 26, at 6PM. The free event will share the story of James Aubrey Stewart, a Piedmont, WV native, and ten other African-American servicemen who became separated from their unit during the Battle of the Bulge and were brutally murdered near the Belgian hamlet of Wereth by German soldiers.

The event will also feature special guest Asa Davison who will be speaking of his experiences as an African-American veteran during World War II..

The presentation will be given by Kip Price, also a native of Piedmont, WV. Price has conducted presentations on the Wereth Eleven throughout North Central West Virginia area.
