The West Virginia Division of Highways advises motorists that the road closure on South Chestnut Street has been extended.  The end date will be announced later (Anticipated Fall of 2017).

South Chestnut Street is closed 24 hours per day, seven days a week from Hornor Avenue to Harvey Street. The road will remain closed until Phase #3 of the project is completed. With Phase #2 almost complete, it was advantageous to keep the roadway closed due to safety concerns for the travelling public and pedestrian traffic until the final phase can be completed which is scheduled to begin in early Spring.

Alternate detour routes will be WV 98 and WV 20.  Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow additional time for their commute.
