For the first time in school history, the Robert C. Byrd High School girls soccer team has won the Class AA-A Region II title, and are heading to the state soccer tournament! The Eagles defeated the Grafton Bearcats 3-2 in a close match that went to extra time.

Below is a video that The Exponent Telegram shared on its Facebook page of Ashton McKane’s game winning goal in the second period of extra time to give the Eagles the victory (1-minute mark of the video). This was McKane’s third goal of the contest.

Congratulations to the team on this historic victory!
