Tuesday was a big night for soccer in Harrison County, as two local schools won regional titles and have advanced to the state soccer tournaments.

The Robert C. Byrd High School boys soccer team defeated Elkins in a decisive 8-1 victory to win the Boys Class AA-A Region II title. The Liberty High School girls soccer team also defeated Elkins 2-1, winning the Girls Class AA-A Region II title in overtime on a golden goal by Camryn Starkey with just 30 seconds remaining.

Congratulations to both teams as they travel to Beckley next weekend to compete in the state soccer tournament and represent Harrison County!
