A Notre Dame H.S. soccer player will be continuing her career at the college level next season.

On Wednesday, Francesca Steele officially signed with West Virginia Wesleyan College. Steele was a defender/midfielder for the Irish, which is a coed soccer team. “Playing with and against boys has prepared me physically and mentally to play at the college level,”said Steele. “I hope to contribute to the team and work as hard as I can to improve my game.”

Notre Dame soccer coach Ian McAra is excited that Steele will continue her career with the Bobcats.

“I’m happy Francesca has decided to continue playing soccer at Wesleyan. She has been a tremendous asset to the Notre Dame soccer team and has all the tools necessary for continued success if she continues to work hard and develop her game,” said McAra.

Steele plans to study Biochemistry and continue on to medical school.
