The 2016 West Virginia high school football season kicks off this week, and WV MetroNews has released its High School Football Power Rankings to start the year. Three Harrison County football teams have been listed in the rankings for their respective classes.

In Class AA, defending state champions, the Bridgeport Indians start the season at No. 1. The Indians face Lewis County on Thursday at home in Bridgeport at Wayne Jamison Field.

The Robert C. Byrd Flying Eagles are ranked No. 7 (AA) heading into week 1. RCB plays at home on Friday night against Fairmont Senior.

In Class A, the South Harrison Hawks are ranked No. 9 and will face Doddridge County on Friday at home.
